Before the Year Ends — What You Still Have Time to Overcome Within Yourself

There’s something most people don’t like to admit, but all of us have felt it — sometimes even trying to pretend it’s not there:

Fear isn’t just a feeling.
It’s a narrative.
An old script.
Almost a borrowed story that insists on running our adult life.
And here’s the curious part:
Most of these stories aren’t even ours — they came from someone, from some moment, from a pain long gone,
but that keeps resurfacing every time we try to grow.
And now, with so little left before the year ends there’s still time.
Time to look at what you’ve been postponing.
Time to realign yourself on the inside.
Time to change the narrative before the calendar flips.
Because the real turning point doesn’t happen on December 31st.
It happens earlier— in the exact moment you decide to stop running from what you still haven’t faced.
Fear doesn’t paralyze you.
Obeying fear does.
And if you look closely, it always shows up the same way:
When you stare at a decision you know you need to make, but convince yourself, “I’ll deal with it later.”
When you feel you deserve something better, but still believe you need to wait for the “perfect moment.”
When you want to change, want to grow, want to expand— but insist on staying where everything is familiar, predictable, comfortable… and limiting.
The truth is simple:
Fear doesn’t have to disappear for you to act.
But it loses power when you act.
Action always comes before courage.
And the people who understand this are the ones who change their lives.
Because fear doesn’t go away— you outgrow it.
And in that difference… entire destinies shift.
You have two ways to end this year:

Carrying the same fear… or starting to bury it today.
And I’m not talking about fighting giant monsters.
I’m talking about micro-actions — the ones no one sees but that transform everything inside you:
Saying what you’ve been swallowing;
Ending what no longer makes sense;
Beginning what you’ve been postponing;
Saying “no” where you always gave in;
Allowing yourself to try without guarantees;
Being honest about what you feel — and what you want;
Choosing yourself, even if your hands shake.
Because the truth is: fear lies.
It creates scenarios reality never confirms.
It exaggerates risks and shrinks possibilities.
It keeps you where you’ve already outgrown.
And that’s exactly why, the moment you act — in any way — something inside you organizes, expands, strengthens.
The year is almost over…
but you still have time to change what truly matters.
Think about it:
If you start today,
even if it’s small,
even if it’s imperfect,
even without knowing the ending…
Who will you be on December 31st?
Because the version that arrives there can be more grounded, more mature, more free than the one standing here now.
Change doesn’t happen on the calendar.
It happens in your consciousness.
And you don’t need a full year for that — you just need one honest decision sometime this week.
Because what you think you fear isn’t fear itself — it’s the powerful version of you you know you’ll have to sustain once you decide to grow.
So tell me…
What do you still need to face before 2025 ends?

A conversation?
A choice?
A truth?
A door that needs to be closed?
A door you’re afraid to open?
A version of you that you’ve already outgrown but still carry?
Because fear isn’t defeated by noise.
It collapses in the exact moment you stop running.
And it’s in that instant — in that deep breath right before the action — that an entirely new life begins to move in your favor.
Not later.
Now.
With courage, presence — and the truth that has always lived inside you,
Priscila Iwama
